A woman accused six people including a local Chhatra League leader of sexually assaulting her in Satkhira's Assasuni.
The woman on Friday filed a written complaint in this regard with Assasuni police, primarily accusing Sakib Billah, president of Khajra union ward no 5 unit Chhatra League.
The other accused are: Raihan Khoka, Al Amin Morol, Md Shubho, Mamun Hossain Babu, and Majnu Sardar.
Confirming the matter, Assasuni police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Golam Kabir said they are investigating the matter and will take legal actions if the incident is found to be true.
According to the complaint, the woman was on her uncle's motorbike on the way to Satkhira. Billal including the other accused intercepted the vehicle near Kapsanda School in the upazila.
Bilal hugged the woman and asked her to marry him. The accused then held her while her clothes were torn off her body. She also claimed that she was groped in the private parts.
The woman said police have not arrested anyone yet and she has been receiving threats from the perpetrators. She demanded justice for the assault she had faced.
Lucky Billah, the brother of the key suspect, and president of the Khajra union unit Chhatra League dismissed the allegation.
Asmaul Hussain, president of Assasuni upazila unit Chhatra League, said: "If the incident is found to be true we will take departmental action against him."
