A case has been filed against three people over the attack on the imam of an Ahmadiyya mosque in Mymensingh.
Ahmadiyya community Spokesperson Hazari Al Munir named arrested madrasa student Abdul Ahad Mohammad Ullah and two others in the case filed with Ishwarganj police station Tuesday night.
Ishwarganj Officer-in-Charge Bodrul Alam Khan said: “Ahad’s wife Josnara Begum and his brothers Ainuddin and Mainuddin were detained from their house and take to Detective Branch of Police Headquarters last night [Tuesday].
“We are hoping to arrest the attackers soon.”
Imam Mostafizur Rahman was hacked with sharp weapons indiscriminately inside the mosque after Esha prayers on Monday.
Ahad, one of the attackers apprehended by locals after the attack, identified the other attackers as Ilias Hossain and Jahirul Islam
He on Tuesday said they were all the students of Islampur Darus Sunnah Jafria Madrasa in Jamalpur.
