Matchmaker’s son hurls crude bombs, three injured

The son of a female matchmaker hurled crude bombs at his mother's client in Shyampur area of Dhaka on Sunday night, as the client did not pay her mother as contracted. Abdur Rashed, officer-in-charge of Shyampur police station, confirmed this to the Dhaka Tribune. Sohel, the son of matchmaker Ayna Begum, and his two aides were injured in the incident. They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital immediately after the incident. “Javed made a deal with Ayna Begum, that if she ensures the marriage of Javed’s daughter, then Javed would give her Tk50,000. Ayna did her job as contracted but Javed allegedly did not pay the amount. “Sohel and his aides attacked Javed on Sunday around 9pm by hurling the crude bombs at him. But Sohel and two of his friends were injured instead,” the OC said. Legal action will be taken against the trio in this connection, said Fazlur Rahman, assistant commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Shyampur Zone.
