The headmaster of a school in Nadigram of Bogra has been accused of sexual harassment, misuse of power, misconduct, extortion, embezzlement and other irregularities.
UNO Sharifunnesa said that the local secondary education officer had been assigned to investigate the allegations against Fazlur Rahman, headmaster of Kazi Abdul Wazed Girls’ High School.
“Action will be taken against Fazlur if he is found guilty in the probe,” she said on Saturday.
Fazlur has, however, refuted the allegations as baseless.
He claimed that the colleagues had been spreading propaganda against him for taking strong stance to maintain discipline and punctuality among the teachers.
In one of the written complaints filed with the UNO office, three female teachers accused the headmaster of sexual harassment and misbehaviour.
Meanwhile, Assistant Headmaster Abdul Majid and 10 other teachers, in a separate letter, alleged that Fazlur had been demanding extortion from them, charging extra fees from students, and misappropriating money from the school fund and even the stipend sanctioned for students.
