Cleanup at Atia Mahal starts Monday

Cleanup operations at Atia Mahal, the militant den in Sylhet’s Shibbari upazila, will start from Monday. Additional Deputy Commissioner Jedal Al Musa of Sylhet Metropolitan Police confirmed it. He said the police will also remove the remains of the militants inside the building. ADC Musa said the operation will start when the Bomb Disposal Unit of the army arrives at the spot. Army para-commandos carried out a 111-hour raid called Operation Twilight at the den, saving 78 people and killing two militants. Two others, who were inside the building, had blown themselves to pieces. The raid ended on Tuesday.
