Police have arrested the father and a younger brother of New JMB militant Ahmed Rafid Al-Hasan, who was killed along with three others during a raid at a den in Sitakunda, Chittagong on March 16.
An Islami Chhatra Shibir leader arrested from Senpara Parbata in Mirpur during the drive Monday afternoon is Arefin Islam, Rafid’s cousin who also radicalised his brother Rakib Al-Hasan.

Arefin was a student at the Department of Biotechnology at Brac University. He recently refused to study at the university as it offers co-education. Rakib studies MBBS in Delta Medical College.
The other arrestee is Shamsul Haque, a relative of Rafid's father Toufiqu Hasan.
Toufiq and Shamsul admitted that they had been involved in militant activities, DMP Mirpur Deputy Commissioner Masud Ahmed told Bangla Tribune.

Rafid, his cousin Ayad Hasan of Mirpur, who left home with their passports on August 9, 2016, and two other militants from Bandarban were killed in Operation Assault 16 at Sitakunda. The cousins reportedly blew themselves up to avoid arrest.
