A suspected robber was killed in a “gunfight” with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Chhoto Chonua area under Banshkhali upazila of Chittagong district.
The deceased has yet to be identified.
Assistant superintendent of Police Md Mashkur Rahman, also assistant director (media) of RAB 7, said, acting on information, a patrol team of the elite force conducted a drive in the area early Monday.
Upon seeing RAB, the gang members opened fire on the elite force members, forcing them to fire back.
Eventually, RAB recovered the body, along with seven firearms, and 22 rounds of bullets.
