'Quader claimed mental disorder to confuse investigators'

According to police, Quader while giving the statement had pretended to be so with an aim to get rid of the murder charges. He had then also divulged some confusing information while recording the statement under  Section 164 of Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) on February 25, they added. Some police officers linked to the investigation into the murder said the former Jatiya Party MP from the same parliamentary seat also did not reveal some other important information at that time using tricks. Quader told the court of Sundarganj's chief judicial magistrate that he had been planning the killing for six months out of his political rivalry. But, police said three killers and his driver had told them that the planning lasted for a year, which was executed on December 31 last year by shooting Liton dead at his village home in Sundarganj upazila. The investigators claimed that Quader also cunningly avoided answering how he got two illegal firearms and did not even clarify the way he gave firearms training to the killers. Considering the confessional statement, police were planning to interrogate him again since he kept some clues secret since the investigators thought Quader did it all mainly to keep them in dark. Gaibandha's Additional Superintendent of Police Md Rabiul Islam said they will look into the matter Quader did not spoke about or concealed. Meanwhile, police kept an eye on Shamsuzzoha, once a personal secretary to Quader, over the assassination. Rabiul hinted that they may arrest Shamsuzzoha anytime, if needed. However, Dhopadanga Union Parishad Member Idris Ali claimed that he saw  Shamsuzzoha being arrested on Wednesday night, which police denied later on.
