Man stabbed to death in front of father

A man has been stabbed to death in front of his father by assailants in Dhaka’s Pallabi area. The deceased, Saiful Islam, 35, was a computer operator at a saree factory in Mirpur. The deceased’s father Samsur Rahman said: “After finishing his work, Saiful came to my vegetable shop in Pallabi Section 12 around 7:30pm on Wednesday. All of a sudden two youths approached my son and started physically assaulting him. “They stabbed my son in the chest when I tried to stop them. I chased them but they managed to escape.” He said Saiful was first taken to a local clinic and later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital around 10pm where the on duty doctors declared him dead. “I do not know the names of the killers but I can identify them. I have no idea why they killed my son,” said Saiful’s father. The body has been kept in the hospital morgue. Confirming the matter, Pallabi OC Dadon Fakir said: “I have sent police to the spot and even I am going there.”
