A mugger on Tuesday gave his confessional statement before a Dhaka court over the death of a woman in Dhanmondi area.
Md Abdullah, 30, was arrested from Ashulia on the outskirts of Dhaka on Monday afternoon, according to the Dhaka Metropolitan Police news portal.
During a primary interrogation, the arrestee, now in jail, admitted that he and three other people were involved in the mugging incident, the portal says.
On January 26, a woman by the name of Helena Begum was killed in Dhanmandi after being run over by a car carrying a group of muggers who were reportedly trying to snatch her purse.

Helena was an employee of Green Life Hospital on Green Road.
Inspector Md Parvez Islam of Dhanmondi police station said Helena and her husband Monirul Islam had arrived in Dhaka from Barisal in early hours on that day.
“Later, they boarded a bus at Sadarghat and got off near Dhanmondi Road 7 around 5am,” he said, quoting her husband.
“When the couple was crossing the road, muggers approached in a white car and snatched Helena’s purse.”
Helena was run over and died on the spot as she fell on the road, the official added.
