No fresh arrest was reported in the last two days, but the law enforcers questioned some leaders of local Awami League and its associate organisations over the murder.
Early yesterday, police booked Sundarganj upazila unit AL leader and former upazila vice-chairman Ahsan Habib Masud for interrogation. Police are also looking for a former Chhatra League leader, Samiul Islam Samu, who is said to be close to Liton.
It is reported that the local unit AL and its affiliate body leaders and activists were in good terms with a rival group and Jamaat-Shibir leaders and activists, which police are ostensibly verifying.
Aiming at being clear about the motive, the investigators are tracking the cell phone numbers of Liton, his wife, brother-in-law, housemaid and other employees of his house.

Police are also taking information about those who met the MP on the day he was murdered and the previous day as well.
As of yesterday, 21 people have been arrested over the murder.
Abu Haider, investigating officer in the case, said: “Hopefully, we will be able to unearth the motive soon.”
Sundarganj police station Officer-in-Charge Atiar Rahman, however, declined to make any comment, saying that the interrogation of Masud was advancing smoothly.
