3 suspected members of Sarwar-Tamim’s New JMB faction held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (New JMB) from Babla Bon area in Chapainawabganj.
The arrestees are Mohmmad General Islam, 25, Rasul Boksh, 50, and Islam, 70.
RAB 5 Deputy Commander Major A M Shraful Islam said: “Acting on a tip-off, we conducted a raid in Babla Bon area and arrested the trio with Jihadi books around 4:15am on Sunday.
“We recovered a pistol, three rounds of bullets, a magazine, 1.1kg gunpowder from their possession.”
According to RAB, Sarwar Jahan alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif was the chief of New JMB while
Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim Ahmed Chowdhury was the second-in-command of the group.
Details regarding the matter will be disclosed in a press briefing later in the day.
