Two suspected militants of Sarwar-Tamim’s ‘New JMB’ held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officers detained two suspected members of a new faction of banned militant outfit Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from the Kalshi Lalmati area in Mirpur, Dhaka, at around 12:45am on Tuesday. RAB 4 Special Company Commander Mostofa Kamal said Milon was assigned to collect funds from different sources and distribute to the New JMB members. Earlier, RAB claimed that Sarwar - alias Abdur Rahman alias Abu Ibrahim al-Hanif - and Gulshan attack mastermind Tamim belonged to the New JMB. Sarwar sustained injuries after jumping off a five-storey building in Ashulia in the face of a RAB raid to arrest him on October 8. He died of his injuries at a Savar hospital the same day. Tamim was killed in a drive at a militants’ den in Paikpara area of Narayanganj town on August 27.
