Unidentified assailants have shot a Bkash agent to death in the capital’s Badda and took away Tk1.5 lakh.
Mahbub Mridha, 28, son of Abdul Khaleq Mridha, hailed from Agailjhara upazila of Barisal, was shot by two muggers in the area at 11:45am on Sunday, leaving him injured critically.
Later, locals rushed him to Kurmitola General Hospital where the duty doctors declared him dead at 12:15pm, said Badda OC Abdul Jalil Mandal.
Kamruzzaman, general manager of Roops Distribution Company which is involved in collecting bKash money from agents, told the Dhaka Tribune that Mahbub along with Tuhin was heading to Badda to collect money from bKash agents.
“All on a sudden, two muggers hit Tuhin from behind and he fell to the ground. Then, they shot Mahbub at his neck and left the place with the bag of money.”
Later, Mahbub was declared dead at the hospital, he said.
No arrest was made yet in this connection, said the police official.
