A retired Sonali Bank official was beaten to death allegedly by his wife and son at their residence in Baruda under Joydebpur of Gazipur early yesterday.
The deceased was Gias Uddin Khan, 62.
Police arrested his wife Jahanara Begum, 45, son Shahriar Khan Manik, 26, and Jahanara's sister Parveen, 38, suspecting them to have killed Gias Uddin.
Family members brought Gias Uddin to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College Hospital around 1am saying he had suffered a stroke, said hospital sources.
Upon his arrival, he was declared dead, added the sources.
On information, police went to the spot and found the body bore several injury marks.
Meanwhile, relatives claimed that Gias Uddin was beaten and strangled to death by his wife and son at their residence at Baruda in Joydebpur of the city.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue.
