A clash has been erupted between two groups of people residing at Geneva Camp at the capital’s Mohammadpur.
The clash erupted on Thursday afternoon between two rival groups of the camp, Assistant Commissioner (Mohammadpur Zone) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Hafiz Al Faruk told the Dhaka Tribune.
However, the reasons behind the clash could not be known immediately, said the police official.
On information, police rushed to the spot and tried to bring the situation under control. During the time, the unruly men pelted brick chips aiming at the law enforcers, said Hafiz.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Waheduzzaman said the clash was ensued over money.
Police recovered several knives and brick chips and removed those from the spot.
None was arrested in connection with the incident, said the ADC.
Additional police were deployed in the area to avert any further clash.
ADC Wahiduzzaman added that police would file a case over the clash.
