An accused of two drug cases allegedly committed suicide in police custody at Shailkupa police station in Jhenaidah yesterday afternoon.
The deceased is Kajal Mandal, 28, son of Julhas Mandal, a resident of the Rajapur village of Kushtia district. He is an accused of two drug cases filed with Islamic University Police Station and the Shailkupa police station.
Earlier, being tipped off, a team of Shailkupa police station arrested him along with 20 small packets of hemp from Bhatai Bazar area of the upazila on Thursday night.
The arrested tried to commit suicide by hanging himself from the roof of a bathroom at the police station with his lungi around 10am on Friday.
