A youth was beaten to death with hammer allegedly by his colleague at a furniture shop at Rangunia upazila in Chittagong yesterday morning.
The deceased was identified as Md Delwar, 26, son of Md Abul Kalam, a resident of Purba Kodala village under Raykhali of Joynagar area of the upazila.
The SI told the Dhaka Tribune that a brawl was ensued between Delwar and his colleague Iskandar over a trivial matter around 9:30am.
At one stage of altercation, Iskandar hit him with a hammer.
Sayed Nazrul Islam, an official of Rangunia Health Complex, said Delwar was left in front of the health complex unconsciously around 10am and he died after a few minutes.
Iskandar went into hiding soon after the killing. A case was filed in this connection.
