A mysterious situation has created over the death of a minor domestic help who reportedly fell down from the roof of a five-storey building at Khulshi, port city yesterday morning.
Police could not reveal how the girl fell down from there.
The victim identified as Sultana used to work at the house of Altaf Hossain who is an expatriate. But detail information about her could not be ascertained immediately, said police.
Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH)’s Nayek Jahangir Alam told Dhaka Tribune that one driver of the building rushed Sultana in critical condition to the hospital around 8pm where on-duty doctors declared her dead.
Later, police detained the driver, but could not glean any significant information from him in this connection, said Nayek Jahangir. The body was sent to CMCH morgue for autopsy.
On information, police rushed to the spot and interrogated Altaf’s elder brother Wahid who lives in the same building.
Wahid said he did not know why the girl went to the rooftop in the morning.
