4 held with 3,500 phensidyle in Chittagong

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB 7) in a drive arrested four alleged drug peddlers in possession with 3,500 bottles of phensidyle and seized a covered-van and a private car early Wednesday. The arrestees were identified as Md Motaher Hossen, 30, Md Robiul Hasan,19,  Md Jakir Hossen,35,  and Md Khokon Mia,35, said a press release of RAB 7. Of them, Motaher and Robiul Hasan were arrested along with the private car while Jakir and Khokon were held from covered-van, stated the release signed by RAB-7 Media Wing’s Senior Assistant Director Sohel Mahmud. Being tipped-off that a group of drug peddlers headed for Chittagong from Comilla carrying 3500 bottles of phensidyle boarding a private car and a covered-van, a team of RAB 7 barred the two vehicles at Borodarogar Hat area under Sitakunda upazila at around 3am. Sensing the presence of law enforcers, the drug peddlers tried to escape but the RAB officials detained them after a short chase and recovered the phensidyle worth of Tk28 lakh from their possession, it adds. They were handed over to Sitakunda police station while a case was lodged in this connection.
