Adabor police station Sub-Inspector Ratan Kumar has been suspended for allegedly harassing a female student of Asha University in the capital.
DMP's Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar suspended the SI on Monday afternoon.
He said: “I came to know about the matter through media reports. We have not yet received any complaint from the student in this regard.”
Quoting media reports, the DC said the SI gave inappropriate proposal to the university student.
“A two-member probe team has been formed to investigate into the matter.”
Tejgaon Division Additional Deputy Commissioner (Administration) Habibun Nobi Anisur Rashid and Mohammadpur Zone's Assistant Commissioner Hafiz Al Faruq were asked to submit the probe report within three working days.
On the other hand, DMP Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia also formed a three member probe team regrading the matter and asked them to submit a report within three working days.
DMP Joint Commissioner (Protection) Jamil Ahmed, Detective Branch (DB) of Police Deputy Commissioner (West) Sazzadur Rahman and Tejgaon Division Deputy Commissioner Biplob Kumar Sarkar are in the probe team.
