Two Hiace microbuses were seized in connection with the hijacking.
Sub-inspector Mafizul Islam confirmed about the arrest in a press briefing at the district office of Detective Branch (DB) after the arrest.
He said: “The hijacking took place at Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road area on October 27. The suspects stopped a bus of Utshab Paribahan at Narayanganj’s Bhuigor area and robbed Tk7lakh from two jewellers. We arrested eight suspects on Monday night. The criminals used two private cars in the course of the robbery.”
The arrested suspects are Joygun Nesa(70), Monira Begum(30), Monir Hossain(45), Abul Kashem(40), Shopon(27), Sharif Hossain(35), Noyon Hossain Babu(27), Nuruzzaman Patwari(45).
