One held with VoIP equipment in Chittagong

The elite force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB-7) in a drive has arrested a person in possession with huge Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) equipment worth of around Tk 22 lakh from Panchlaish area in port city Chittagong early Tuesday.

The arrestee was identified as Rashed Nizam, 25, son of late Yusuf Mia, hailing from Boalkhali upazila in Chittagong, said RAB-7 sources.

“Acting on a tip-off, a team of RAB-7 led by Major Jahangir Alam conducted the drive at the six floor of a building at Al Madani Road of Sulukbahar area under Panchlaish police station and arrested the youth”, said Squadron Leader Safayat Jamil Fahim.

During the RAB seized two Gateway Addpac machines along with 512 SIM aards, 15 GSM antennas, five modems, four routers, four ethernet switches, four CPU, one Laptop, two LCD monitor, three key boards, a total 7474 different mobile operations SIM cards, added Safayat Jamil.
