An employee of the Naria Sub-Registry office was injured in an attack by miscreants in Rupbaburhat area of Zanjira upazila of the district yesterday.
The victim was Md Shahidul Islam, the clerk of the Naria upazila land office hailing from Satdaria village of Rajoir upazila in Madaripur district.
A gang of four miscreants on a motorcycle waylaid Shahidul in the area around 5am on his way to Dhaka along with some important official documents, said sources at the land office.
The criminals stabbed the land office employee indiscriminately, leaving him injured.
They also snatched his bag containing the official papers and cash money.
At first the injured was sent to Zanjira Health Complex. Later doctors referred him to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
