Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) have arrested Saiful Islam, a staff nurse of United Hospital in Dhaka, allegedly for sexually harassing a female patient.
Major Maksudul Alam, Assistant Director of Legal and Media of RAB, said Saiful was arrested from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport area on Thursday night.
Saiful was handed over to Gulshan police station Friday morning, said ASP Nazmul Hasan Rajib.
On December 3, the High Court directed police to arrest Saiful and produce him before it on December 7.
The court also issued a rule on the government and the hospital authorities asking as to why legal action should not be taken against both Saiful and the hospital authorities for the incident.
On November 30, Saiful, allegedly ‘sexually abused’ a female patient in the post-operative intensive care unit (ICU) of the hospital when she was unconscious.
