A trader was allegedly shot dead by robbers at Adarsha vilage in Khurushkul area under Sadar upazila yesterday.
The deceased was Nurul Absar, 25, son of Nurul Islam of Kaorapara village in the area.
Sources said a gang of robbers tried to rob Absar’s grocery shop in the area at night. The robbers shot him after he tried to resist them. He died on the spot.
On information, police went to the spot and recovered the body.
When contacted, Aslam Khan, officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station, said the police were trying to arrest the criminals.
