Police recovered the decomposed body of a schoolboy yesterday in the district who went missing on December 11.
The victim was Ismail Hossain Riad, son of Firoz Bhuyan and student of Class IV of Edbardi Government Primary School at Brahmandi union under Araihazar upazila.
Rekha Akter, mother of Riad, said her son went missing while he was returning from nearby mosque in the evening.
Later, the father of the boy filed a general diary with Araihazar police station.
Shakhawat Hossain, officer-in-charge of the police station, said on information, the police recovered the body from a pond in the area.
