A person has been killed in a “gunfight” between two outlawed parties at Ranagoti village under Abhaynagar upazila in Jessore.
Biddot Kumar Rai, 35, died in the “gunfight” between Zia Bahini and Tura-Noso Bahini that took place around 2:30am Wednesday. He is the son of Shukumar Rai of Ranagoti village.
Abhaynagar OC Sheikh Nasiruddin said the groups locked into a “gunfight” over establishing supremacy in the area that left Biddot dead.
He said: “On information, we went to the spot and recovered the body around 3:30am.”
Meanwhile, police recovered a pipe-gun and three rounds of bullets from the spot.
The OC said Biddot was an enlisted criminal and accused in nine cases including murder.
