A businessman has been hacked to death by unidentified assailants at Deupara village under Kaliganj upazila in Gazipur.
The deceased is Kamal Hossain, 37, son of Shahidur Rahman alias Lal Mia.
Deceased's cousin Shamsul Hoque Bhuiyan said: “Kamal was returning him from work around 10pm Saturday when some unidentified assailants attacked him with sharp weapons as he reached Deupara Railway Crossing area.”
He said Kamal was taken to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex and later shifted to Red Crescent Hospital where he did around 12:30am Sunday.
Kaliganj SI Azizur Rahman said: “Two people have been detained for their suspected involvement with the killing.”
