Three persons have been arrested along with 6,450 pieces of yaba pills in separate incidents in Chittagong city’s Bakalia area early Wednesday.
The arrestees were Abul Hashem, 45, Khairul Alam, 27, and Md Tarek, 29, said Bakalia police station.
Of them, Khairul is a truck driver while Tarek is the helper of Khairul.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mohammed Mohsin of Bakalia police station said Abul was arrested along with 1450 pieces of yaba pills from a Chittagong city-bound passenger bus coming from Cox’s Bazar at Shah Amanat Bridge area while police arrested Khairul and Tarek in front of Blooming Park Community Centre of Bakalia in possession with 5,000 yaba pills and the truck.
Two lawsuits have been registered with Bakalia police station in those connections.
