Abducted businessmen rescued in Bandarban

At least two local bamboo traders, who were kidnapped by some armed miscreants two days ago, have been rescued from Kachhapia area of Ali Kadam upazila of Bandarban early Wednesday.

The duo are Md Saiful, 30, and Ahmad, 35, from Chakaria upazila of Cox's Bazar district.

When contacted, Ali Kadam police station Officer-in-Charge Appela Raju Naha confirmed the recovery and said a joint force conducted a drive in the hilly area at dead of the night and rescued the victims.

They were later taken to the police station.

On Sunday, some miscreants abducted the duo from Jhiri area of the upazila at gun point while they were on a visit to buy bamboo.

On Monday, two tourists and their guide surprisingly went into missing from Ruma upazila of the district and local police have yet to find their trace.

The tourists from the capital were identified as Munna, 35, and Jamil, 28, but the guide had not been identified yet.
