Police in Natore recovered the body of a ninth-grader girl from a banana orchard behind Shikarpur Krishi-Karigori High School in Gurudaspur on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Dipa Khatun, student of Chachkoir Nazimuddin School and College and daughter of Dulal Pramanik of Uttar Shahapur village of the upazila.
Officer-in-charge Ibrahim Hossain of Gurudaspur police station said Dipa went missing on the way home from school on Thursday afternoon.
“Locals saw her body in the orchard in the afternoon and informed police. A police team then arrived on the scene and recovered the body,” he said.
The body would be sent to Natore Sadar Hospital for autopsy, he added.
