Youth shot, hacked to death in Narsingdi

A youth was shot and stabbed to death at Bakultala of Satirpara area under Narsingdi township on Wednesday evening.

The deceased was identified as Shah Alam, 25, son of Abul Kashem of Bakultala.

There were several cases of robbery, theft and mugging against the deceased.

Police and locals said Shah Alam was involved in a mugging gang.

Recently he had a feud with his cohorts Sonnet and Jewel over a mobile phone that he didn't share with them after mugging.

When Jewel and Sonnet demanded the mobile phone from Shah Alam, he denied to give it.

Following that, Sonnet and Jewel shot and stabbed Shah Alam around 6pm and fled the scene after killing.

OC KM Abul Kashem of Sadar Model Police said Sonnet, Jewel and Shah Alam were active members of a mugging gang.

There are at least 10 cases of robbery, theft and mugging against them.

In these cases, they had been in jail at least five times in the last one and half year.

Jewel and Sonnet shot and hacked Shah Alam for a mobile phone that Shah Alam denied to give them.

The OC said the body of Shah Alam would be sent to hospital for autopsy.

None was arrested in this connection.
