Members of Rapid Action Battalion have rescued a 12-year-old schoolgirl from Naogaon district Wednesday, nine days after her abduction from Dhaka.
The victim is a class VII student of a school in the capital.
Members of RAB 5 conducted a drive and rescued her from Chokshita village in Naogaon around 10:30am Wednesday, said a press release issued by the RAB 5.
The law enforcers also arrested abductor Md Sujon Uddin, 24, from the spot.
According to the press release, the victim lived at Diabari in Dhaka with her sister and brother-in-law.
Their neighbour Sujon had threatened to abduct her after she rejected his marriage proposal.
Following the matter, Sujon and two to three of his associates abducted the girl when she went to visit Diabari Balurmath area on September 7.
The kidnappers asked a ransom of Tk50,000 and asked the family members to go to Naogaon. Later, the family members filed a case with RAB 5 in Rajshahi.
