Rapid Action Battalion personnel and Detective Branch of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) arrested three people along with a total of 8,010 pieces of yaba tablets in the port city’s Riajuddin Bazar and Shah Amanat Bridge areas Thursday.
The alleged drug traders are Riadul Islam, 30, Md Nurul Haque, 40, and Kamal Hossen, 28, said DB police and RAB sources.
RAB 7 Chandgaon Camp Commander Major Jahangir admitted the recovery to the Dhaka Tribune telling that they on a tip-off raided Riajuddin Bazar area under Kotwali police station around 1:30pm and arrested tailor shop worker Riadul along with 5,010 yaba pills.
He has long been running yaba business in disguise of tailoring business, the commander continued.
In another dive, DB police searched Nurul and Kamal in a pick up van at Shah Amanat Bridge area under Karnaphuli police station around 10am and found 3,000 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession.
Two cases were registered with the respective police stations in these connection.
