Police have arrested two youths for violating a school girl and sharing the video footage with friends through Whatsapp.
The arrested were Rajon Deb, 21, son of Late Narayan Deb, a resident of Bogla Bazar of the town and Nurul Amin, 22, son of Makhan Miah of Umed Nagar.
M Nazim Uddin, officer-in-charge of Habiganj Sadar Model police station said, five youths including Rajon and Nurul allegedly raped the girl, a student of class VIII, at a house at PTI Road in the town.
Later, the youths themselves took the video footage of the incident.
They offered the girl to develop physical relationship again. However, the girl denied their proposal which angered them, the official says.
The criminals later shared the video footage with several other youths of the locality through Whatsapp, leading the girl to inform her father about the incident.
On Monday night, a case was filed against the five youths including the duo under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act 2000 and the Information Technology Act 2008.
