A mobile court, in a drive, fined five medicine shops with TK55,000 and sealed off another store for selling drugs without having license and documents and keeping misbranded medicine at the store.
Ruhul Amin, assistant commissioner and also the executive magistrate of Chittagong District Administration, led the mobile court at Kotwali and Bakalia area in the city on Thursday.
The court also seized the drug samples for physicians’ worth of Tkone lakh from a pharmacy.
Ruhul Amin said the mobile court fined Buj Pharmacy with Tk5,000, Bosundha pharmacy with Tk5,000, BN Pharmacy withTk 20,000, Haque Pharmacy with Tk10,000, Tusna Medical Hall withTk 10,000, and Japan Dental Care with Tk5,000 during the drive as they were selling misbranded medicine and running the business without having license.
The court recovered five sacks of physicians’ sample from BN Pharmacy while it sealed Tushna Medical off on charge of selling misbranded medicine, added the magistrate.
