Members of Rapid Action Battalion have arrested a pirate with arms and ammunition from Amorbunia area in Sundarbans.
RAB recovered a foreign made pistol and a round bullet from the possession of Shafiqul Islam Swapan, 40, on Wednesday night. He was an active member of Pharaon Bahini.
RAB 6 ASP Mahfuzul Islam said: "Acting on a tip-off, members of RAB conducted a drive in Amorbunia area and arrested Shafiqul. He was an active member of Feraon Belal Bahini.”
“The group broke after the death of Belal but Shafiqul started a team group with four to five arms,” he said.
The RAB official said Shafiqul will be handed over to Morrelganj police with the arms and ammunition on Thursday.
