A girl has allegedly been raped by her father at Chakdhala under Naikkhyangchhari upazila in Bandarban.
Police said the girl filed a complaint with Naikhanchari police station against her father Maulana Abu Bakkar Siddique on Saturday evening. Abu is the acting super of Chakdhala Mohiuchhunnah Dakhil Madrasa.
According to the complaint, her parents got married in 1999. She is the eldest among the three siblings. However, she started living with her father when her parents got divorced in 2003.
Abu raped her after the Ramadan in the absence of her stepmother and continued to do so as she tried to return to her own mother. The complaint added that she went to her maternal aunt's place when her father tried to rape her again on August 8.
Refuting the allegation, Abu claimed that it had been a conspiracy against him.
Naikhanchari OC MD Abul Khyer said: “We will take proper steps after investigating the matter.”
