Rajon’s father urges PM to bring back Kamrul

Rajon’s father has urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to fulfill four-point demands.

Azizur Rahman, father of the ill-fated 13-year old boy Rajon who was beaten to death, made the call in a memorandum which was submitted to the premier through the deputy commissioner of Sylhet on Monday.

Rahman Alam urged the prime minister to bring back Kamrul Islam, one of the accused of the killing of his son in Sylhet.

Other demands are exemplary punishment of the killers, departmental investigation into the negligence of police in duty and punishment to them involved in assisting the killers, and security of his family.

Kamrul, who left country with the help of police after beating Rajon to death along with others, was caught in Jeddah of Saudi Arabia by some Bangladeshi migrants on July 13.

Also readRajon was tortured to death by a group of people at Kumargaon on the outskirts of Sylhet city around 7:30am on July 8.

Two of the tormentors Muhit Alam and his cousin Ismail Hossain Ablus have so far been detained in connection with the barbaric incident.

A 28-minute video, recorded on a mobile phone camera, shows the victim tied to a pole in front of a workshop in the still-closed Sultan Ali Market, beside the Dhaka-Sunamganj road. From the video, it seemed there were five to six men who took part in the barbaric torture.
