A seventh-grade girl has been killed allegedly after rape at Saradi village under Muksudpur upazila in Gopalganj.
Victim Rikta Khanam, 14, was a student of Digangarh High School.
Rikta's uncle Kaiyum Sheikh said she left her maternal grandfather's residence for home on Monday morning but did not reach home.
Later, locals found Rikta's body at the abandoned house of one Mojid Mia at Saradi village around 12 noon Monday.
Being informed, police recovered the body on Monday night.
Sindiaghat police outpost SI Gias Uddin said they found evidence of rape on the spot. "It is being assumed that she was killed after rape."
Four persons were detained for interrogation in this connection, he said.
