Police have arrested seven persons in connection with a murder in the capital's Dhanmondi.
The arrestees are mastermind Mehedi Hasan, his associates Md Sharif Hossain, Md Emon, Md Hasan Ahmed, Md Ashif Iqbal alias Anik, Md Amit Hasan and Md Washif Ullah alias Gaurav.
Police also recovered the mobile phone handset of the victim from the possession of the detainees.
On May 12, miscreants attacked one Aminul Islam Jisan and left him seriously injured near Dhanmondi Lake. He was admitted to Bangladesh Medial Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries two days later.
Victim's father filed a case with Dhanmondi police station on May 14 in this connection.
Deputy Commissioner Md Mashrukur Rahman of DB said the plain-clothes personnel conducted drives on Sunday night and arrested the seven accused of the case from different areas in the capital.
In primary interrogation, the arrestees confessed to killing Jisan.
