A college student has been slaughtered allegedly by her stepfather and brother at her residence in capital's Mirpur.
The body of Amena Khatun Reshma, 18, was sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Mirpur zone Maksud said two people slaughtered Reshma at their Mirpur residence around 10:30am Thursday.
He, however, said Reshma's mother Mariyam claimed that her second husband and son killed her daughter.
Quoting Reshma's mother, ADC Maksud said Reshma was the owner of their residence and her stepfather and brother had been forcing her to transfer the house in their names.
The official said they were on the way to Reshma's residence to interrogate the victim's family members.
He said Reshma's stepfather and brother went on hiding after the incident.
