Police have rescued an 11-year-old boy after two days of his abduction from Sadarghat launch terminal.
The victim, Emon, was rescued from the house of a Sagar Gazi of Kolukathi village under Naria upazila of Shariatpur on Tuesday.
Sagar Gazi and his wife Nasima have been arrested for their alleged involvement in the abduction.
Naria police station OC Ikram Ali said: “The couple allegedly abducted the boy while he was returning to his madrasa from his village home in Barisal.
“They took him to their house and asked Emon's father to pay Tk25,000 through bKash as ransom.”
“Despite getting the money, they did not free the boy as they wanted to collect more ransom from the victim's family members,” added the police official.
Later, acting on a tip-off, the law enforcers arrested the abductors and rescued the boy, said the police .
