Robbers have stabbed five people of a family and looted the house in Uttarpara area under Sreepur upazila in Gazipur.
The injured are businessman Uttam De, 50, his wife Namita Rani, 36, their two sons—Shuvo De, 18, and Shanto De, 13 and their nephew Sajib, 20.
Namita Rani said: “A gang of 12 robbers swooped into their house around 2am Monday and looted gold earrings and two mobile phones.”
“They stabbed my husband, sons and me when we tried to prevent them from robbing the house. They also stabbed Sajib when he came to help after being called by our sons over phone.”
Later, locals went to the spot and took them to Sreepur Health Complex. Uttam and his sons were shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
Sreepur police OC Motaleb Miah said: “We have visited the spot and case will be filed in this connection.”
