Miscreants have hacked an Awami League activist at Haraikandi village under Titash upazila in Comilla.
The deceased is Shah Alam Sarkar, 40, son of Bacchu Mia Sarkar.
Police and locals said local criminals hacked Shah Alam indiscriminately around 8:30pm Thursday following previous enmity.
He was rushed to Gauripur Hospital where on-duty doctor declared him dead.
Deceased's brother Nure Alam Sarkar claimed that a group of local criminals including Mashuk, Alauddin, Liton, Humayun, Harun and Heron killed his brother.
Titash police OC Monirul Islam said the body was taken to the police station and it would be sent to Comilla Medical College Hospital for autopsy on Friday.
