A district court has sentenced a man to death for killing a farmer at Fulbaria in Mumensingh.
Mymensingh 4th Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Jahirul Kabir delivered the judgement on Monday afternoon.
The convict is Azizul Haque, son of Aiyub Ali of Chaitarpar village.
The court also awarded Azizul's brother Dulal Mia life-term imprisonment in the murder case.
According to the case statement, Azizul and Dulal had a dispute over land with farmer Abdul Hakim, 60. Following the dispute, they locked in an altercation and the two brothers hacked Hakim to death on May 14, 2005.
The victim's younger brother Jalal Uddin filed a case in this connection.
