Additional District and Sessions' Judge ANM Md Morshed Khan handed down the verdict against Abdur Rahman, Abu Taher, Sohag Ahmed, Din Islam and Jamal Uddin. All of the conducts are residents of Horinarayanpur area of the district.
Of the convicts, Abu Taher and Jamal Uddin are in police custody while others remain absconding.
According to the prosecution, Sohag beat up his co villager Akbar over Tk90. Then, Abdur Rahman, Abu Taher, Sohag Ahmed, Din Islam and Jamal Uddin, who are relatives of Akbar, beat Sohag to death on August 4, 2003.
Abdul Kaium, elder brother of Sohag filed a case against eight people with Sudharam police station.
