The International Crimes Tribunal-2 has kept for verdict a crimes against humanity case against former information minister and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (Jasad) President Hasanul Haq Inu over eight charges, including the killing of six people in Kushtia during the July uprising.
A three-member judicial panel, led by ICT-2 Chairman Justice Nazrul Islam Chowdhury, passed the order on Thursday after both the prosecution and defence completed their arguments.
The two other members of the tribunal are Judge Md Manjurul Bashid and Judge Noor Mohammad Shahriar Kabir.
Prosecutors Faruk Ahmed, Moinul Karim, Abdus Sobhan Tarafder and others represented the state, while senior lawyer Mansurul Haque Chowdhury completed the arguments for the defence.
The defence placed its arguments over nine days.
During the hearing, the defence claimed that Inu was not a member of parliament during the July uprising in 2024 and had no involvement in the killing of six people in Kushtia.
Mansurul Haque Chowdhury said witnesses in the case had admitted that Inu was not present in Kushtia at the time of the killings.
The defence began placing arguments in the case on April 2.
