High Court orders reinstatement of dismissed ACC official Sharif

The High Court has ordered the reinstatement of Sharif Uddin, a former assistant director of the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) dismissed during the tenure of the Awami League government.

The verdict was delivered on Wednesday by the High Court bench comprising Justice Rezaul Hasan and Justice Biswajit Debnath, following the disposal of a rule issued in this regard.

The court instructed that he be reinstated with all due benefits within 30 days of receiving the verdict.

Senior lawyer Barrister Salahuddin Dolon represented Sharif in court.

Earlier, on February 16, 2022, Sharif Uddin was removed from his position.

The decision was made through an official notice signed by former ACC chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, which announced the termination of Md Sharif Uddin.

Later, on March 13, 2022, Sharif filed a writ petition with the High Court seeking reinstatement.

Barrister Miah Mohammad Ishtiaq filed the petition on behalf of the former ACC assistant director.
